The Face of Peace Africa(FOPA, is not just another pretty face, but an ambassador of peace to the entire African continent, and following the success of the maiden edition of the beauty pageant, the organiser, Blumoon Imaginationz, has announced the commencement of the 2013 edition kicking off with the sales of forms.
The grand finale of the maiden edition took place at Oriental Hotel, Lagos last year with Uti Uwachukwu and Matse of Nigerian Info FM as hosts. Zimuzo Benson, a Psychology graduate from University of Nigeria, Nsukka emerged the winner, and took the prize $10 000 and a sedan car.
Chioma Precious, an undergraduate from Nnamidi Azikwe University was the first runner-up. She got $5000, a trip to Ghana, and a 42 inches plasma TV while Amuche Arjuh from Nnamdi Azikwe University made it as the second runner up. The greatest prize though, remains the opportunity to reach those in positions of making peace in Africa.
Face Of Peace 2013 will have contestants from the UK and other African countries, with auditions taking place in those countries. Forms cost N5,000 or equivalent outside Nigeria. Selected contestants from those countries will then join the contestants in Nigeria to slug it out for the crown, come November 16.
