With the recent infra-structural development ongoing in Osun State, the government has seen the need to attract businesses, service providers, high net-worth individuals and tourists to Osun by creating awareness on the new opportunities, and facilities put on ground.
Together with a non-governmental organization, the People’s Welfare League (PWL), the "Orisun Aje 2014" economic summit aims to assemble stakeholders from different parts of the state, country, and the world to share ideas on how to safeguard the achievements so far recorded and encourage the private sector to build on exploit them in expanding economic development and youth empowerment in the state.
The two-day summit will hold in Osogbo, the state capital, from today, 29th till tomorrow 30th April 2014 with the theme “Crux of Osun’s Developmental Masterplan: Analyzing a radical economic Paradigm Shift” .
Biodun Agboola, Coordinator of the Peoples Welfare League, has said the program will capture and expose to the whole world the new potentials and opportunities now opening up in the state as a result of the developmental and transformational strides the state has taken, especially in the past 40 months of the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola administration.
I'm personally in Osun, and will be giving some insights to the event and activities related to it. Being my firs visit to Oshogbo, there's a lot still left to be done, however, one thing any visitor cannot deny is that the state is actively "under construction". Electricity supply here is also quite constant, as I'm yet to notice a single power cut since arriving yesterday.
Stay tuned, for all the details, and I will be asking the Governor some very pressing questions if I get the opportunity to speak with him one-on-one.
