ENGAGED TO THE RANGE

Yesterday was a very sad day for true love, and romance. Saint Valentine would be spitting in his grave right now. William Shakespeare is totally lost for words on this one.

Peter Okoye of the P Square twins proposing marriage to his fiancée with a Range Rover SUV, to me, is very troubling. Viewing the photos from the scene of the mishap is even more heart-wrenching.

Was he asking Lola Omotayo to marry the 'jeep', and take him along as the driver? Is he asking the young lady to marry him because of the car? Is he using the car to entrap her, knowing full well that a rejection of his proposal would be a rejection of this expensive gift? From the picture above, it was even the car that brought the flowers, popped the question, and even gave the ring. I'm surprised the chick ended up hugging Peter. I thought she'd hug the car, and say yes to it.

I worry for these young people today. What lesson are there for his son to learn? You use wealth as a trap to ensnare women, even into marriage? Tomorrow, when he he falls on bad economic times, and he's not able to purchase the 2020 Range Rover Evoque, what happens then? Divorce?! I know some fathers who would make sure any man who insults their daughter's dignity like this never sets eyes on her, ever again.

I even wonder what we'll hear next. Someone may soon propose to a woman with a Bank Draft, or another with a plot of land. Then again, the fact that the story was simultaneously carried by paid bloggers all over the internet is just all the more worrisome. Who paid them?!

We've just gotten over DJ Khaled and his stupid joke with Nicki Minaj, and then this. Unfortunately, unlike his American counterpart, Peter is not into any form of comedy...that's the best he could do at proposing marriage.

Due to the kind of music they've been making lately, I have little respect left for the Okoye twins, and that little is because they are genuinely from their hearts, very nice people. However, I think they direly need etiquette training...their elder brother too.

  4. I took it to be a gift in addition to a proposal. A well deserved one after bearing him two children...actually perhaps it should have been two range rovers
